About the content:

Paulo Coelho: The Alchemist

Diogenes Verlag Zurich, 1996 Santiago, an Andalusian farm boy, wants to pursue his childhood dream of finding a treasure near the pyramids in Egypt. He is robbed on his journey through Africa, but meets a wide variety of people, including Fatima in an oasis. At the pyramids, robbers tell him about a treasure in Andalusia, whereupon he travels back, finds it and takes it to the oasis to marry Fatima. Conclusion: Fate always helps those who believe in their dreams and are prepared to realise them...

About the artist: ‘For me, the Franzband is much more than just a variation of the various binding techniques. This elaborate technique allows me to work with the full range of craft skills on the one hand and to realise my creative ideas on the other. When the printed sheets are in front of me, I start, I decide and I execute.’
