About the artist: Hélène Limousin already knew what she wanted to be when she was thirteen. After training as a bookbinder, she attended the Corvisart-Tolbiac lycée des Arts Graphiques et Arts du Livre in Paris and then the École Estienne. Her first job was at Atelier Quillet, Île de Ré, in Paris, in 1999. The following year, she founded and jointly managed a workshop in Montmorillon, and in 2003, she opened her own studio, the “Atelier des Mille Feuillets” in Cholet. From then on, Hélène Limousin has regularly taken part in competitions and received various awards.
Since 2015, she has shared her workshop with an illuminator and calligrapher to better combine craftsmanship and creativity. She is also an active member in several professional associations, the APPAR (Association pour la Promotion des Arts de la Reliure), the ARA France (Amis de la Reliure d’Art), the ARO (Amis de la Reliure Originale), and the AAF (Ateliers d’Art de France).
