Ovid: Les Metamorphoses

Ex. No. 2687 A of Édito Service SA, Genève Facsimile of the Skira edition of 1931 The Metamorphoses are a mythological work about metamorphoses written in hexameters. They range in content from the creation of the universe and the Flood to the sagas of the gods, heroic epics, mythical stories about Troy and Rome and the death, eulogy and deification of Caesar. The work influenced literature and the visual arts from the Middle Ages to the Baroque period.

About the artist: François Bernaschina grew up in Geneva, where he completed a manual bookbinding apprenticeship at Reliure Vermeille. This was followed by 5 successful years as a creative bookbinder at Bubu AG Mönchaltorf, interrupted by a year of practical training in Boston, USA. In the 1980s, he successfully took part in several professional competitions. After a number of non-professional activities in French-speaking Switzerland, including teaching at the vocational school in Lausanne, he began studying psychology at the University of Geneva, which he completed in 2003 with a doctorate. From 2004-2006 he was responsible for internet communication at Compusoft SA and since 2007 he has been a partner at the Francfort communications agency in Lausanne.
