Full leather stub binding, mini-book Seven watercolours on single sheets of paperboard attached to stubs. Dark red “long grain” goatskin, several pieces of leather set edge to edge; silver-tooled title “à la chinoise” on smooth spine; sewn endbands; doublure edge-to-edge light grey box calf, flyleaf light grey paper. Slipcase chemise in half-binding style with same box calf as doublure and red and black striped Japanese paper, lined with dark red suede; title embossed in red foil. Slipcase edged with box calf and covered with same Japanese paper as chemise.

Gerlinde Gschwendtner: Nudes

Unique copy, 2016. Gerlinde Gschwendtner (born 1940) studied at the Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien under Robin Anderson and Herbert Boeckl. She is a freelance artist and teaches fine art, in particular watercolour painting, in Germany and Austria

About the artist: Anick Butré is one of the few book artists who paint, engrave, design, bind and work as a publisher at the same time.

She has published 45 titles of mini-books in 10 to 30 copies each. In total, she has designed and bound over 500 covers, a large proportion of which are mini-books measuring approx. 45 × 55 mm.

As a specialist in the design and binding of such mini-books, she held courses at the AAAV (Ateliers d’Arts Appliqués du Vésinet), where she had also received her own training. She has won several prizes and taken part in numerous exhibitions.
