Red-brown morocco leather, large diamond patterns on the front and back covers as leather overlays with embossed leather in light brown, medium brown, dark brown and white, slightly extending onto the spine, smooth spine without bands, but with the author's name in large gold letters. Three-sided gold edging and hand-carved headband. Leather fold, mirror and fly leaf in light grey suede. Chemise with leather spine and identical title embossing, leather rail, wood paper cover, lined with thin beige felt. Slipcase with leather-bound opening and covered with wood paper.

In his lyrical work, Pétrarque explores the complexity of love, especially unrequited love. Overall, his works reflect a deep emotional resonance and an innovative use of poetic form, making him one of the most influential poets.

About the artists: Jean-Paul and Colette Miguet are among the best bookbinders of the second half of the 20th century. They were active from 1951 to 1981. After studying bookbinding, decoration and fine arts at the École Estienne in Paris, Jean-Paul joined the workshop of the Bibliothèque nationale in 1944. There, he met Colette, who did binding and restoration work. In 1951, they set up their bookbinding workshop in the back of the bookshop La Renoncule in Paris. Their high-quality works range from purely classical bindings to contemporary creations.

They were convinced that the bookbinder’s cover design should never compete with the author or illustrator but should only interpret graphics and colours to perfection.
