Full French binding Purple goatskin, smooth spine, freehand design carved into the leather on the front and back covers with a pointed tool, lines and some areas coloured light beige and purple, many 5 mm long lines carved across the spine and partially coloured with beige and pink paint. Three-sided, speckled colour edge, top and bottom edges supplemented with small beige and purple lines, hand-carved headband. Leather fold, bord-à-bord mirror and fly leaf made of moss green paper, printed with a window image in the centre. Folding case covered with light moss green fabric, decorated leather label with black on the front.

About the artist: Yuko Matsuno was born in Tokyo. After completing her master's degree in pharmacy at the University of Tokyo, she decided to pursue her passion for books and craftsmanship. In 2008, she moved to England to begin training in bookbinding at a renowned art school in London. There she learned both traditional and modern bookbinding techniques. After graduating in 2011, Yuko Matsuno worked in various bookbinding workshops in London. In 2015, she founded her own workshop, where she offers customized bindings and book restoration. Yuko is known for her precise craftsmanship and creative cover designs. In addition to her practical work, she teaches workshops and courses to promote the craft of bookbinding. She has participated in various exhibitions to showcase her work.
